Saturday morning’s are a TV waste land. The weekly magic hours between 8:00am and 11:00am are no more. They haven’t been for some time. The government, in an effort to make Saturday morning network TV more educational demanded that educational standards be met or “E/I” programs be created, which combined with the rise of cable cartoon programming and syndication, basically pooped on the party at the close of the decade where people dressed, hmmm, a lot like they do now. Being prone to age inappropriate indulgences, I’ve resorted to playing old Pee-wee’s Playhouse episodes on DVD to fill the Saturday morning void when we’re puttering around the house wondering if we’ll ever figure out how to make all the stuff we have accumulated as a couple over the last 10 years play nice with our latest inferior apartment.
